We recently picked up a 2015 Pathfinder Platinum... my wife unlocked the door, put her bag (with keys inside) on her seat, closed the door and went back inside to grab something quick, and when she came back all doors were LOCKED --- again KeyFob is inside the car?!?! - thought this wasn't supposed to happen... I tried the same thing tonight but placed the KeyFOB in the center console after opening, then closed the doors, and about a minute later all doors went click-locked?!? I read the manual but it was not helpful on this --- any thoughts? Normal? Issue? Missing something?

Thanks!

I read through parts of the lock chapter of the FSM. I did read that "Even with a registered Intelligent Key remaining inside the vehicle, door locks can be locked/unlocked from outside of the vehicle with
a spare Intelligent Key as long as key IDs are different." Now, I did not get as far as the automatic locking triggers and if a key inside is still allowed, but you could look. Here's the chapter for your car:

You likely have some settings that you can customize. Read up on that chapter and pair it with your users manual to get it how you want it to work.

Thanks for the follow up... I did try again and this time left the keys on top of the dash (as opposed to in the center console cup holder area) and the doors did not auto lock... I have to do another close reading and check all the settings... much appreciated.

Interesting. It sounds like things are mostly working. That chapter did mention multiple sensors on the vehicle for detecting your FOB location. Maybe one of the inside sensors isn't working as well as it used to.
