Good morning, I went to the dealership to get a diagnostic and they said: upon diagnosis, found trunk opener switch not receiving signal from BCM. Broken connection in between trunk harness and trunk opener switch connector, recommend replacing trunk harness assembly.

They said I may need a new trunk door that can cost up $4000 for repairs.

Has anyone had this issue before or similar situation?

Nissan Rogue 2015, basic model. Only way to open the trunk is through a hatch in the back.

The trouble with gen2 Hatch Harnesses is that you can't buy them separately, you have to replace the whole door. Hopefully they did a thorough diagnosis on it, because frankly we see more problems with broken Body Harnesses and failed BCM's than broken Hatch Harnesses. Before you spend that kind of money, if you have tools and know which end of a multimeter is which, I can help you through a proper diag. The documentation for the system can be found here:

It's a little difficult because Nissan screwed up the wiring diagram in the BCS section, it shows the cinch motor and door switch but not the intervening wire-to-wire connector located underneath the lefthand cargo panel. If there is a break, that connector needs to be accessed to determine whether the break is in the Hatch or Body Harness.
