Nissan says the new Navara’s high-strength chassis and suspension have been engineered to “take the punishment of intense daily usage”, and also claims a reduction in its turning circle to improve its agility and manoeuvrability.
Technology systems include electronic stability control, active brake limited slip, hill start assist, hill descent control, and shift-on-the-fly 4×4, which can be engaged while the vehicle is in motion.
The new Nissan Navara will be offered in both rear- and all-wheel-drive, with manual and automatic transmissions, and with at least one diesel engine.
The new-generation model will replace both the 10-year-old D40 Navara and the ancient D22 model, which first launched in 1997, with single-, space- and dual-cab, and chassis and pick-up body styles all planned.
In a statement, Nissan Australia said information on local specifications, engines, transmissions and model grades would be announced closer to the Navara’s introduction to our market.
