Powertrain is quite under-whelming in my opinion, nothing to get excited about and considering the calibre of competition, including soon to be released redesigns that will surely push the limits of engineering, Nissan may have wanted to consider setting their sights a bit higher.
Sounds like the same VQ35 engine that is close to 15 years old, perhaps with some tweaks but perhaps not, 260 hp in the year 2015 from this displacement engine is not competitive. The only thing that might make up for it would be stellar fuel efficiency and solid reliability numbers - but if the Pathfinder is any indication (which the Murano is bound to share powertrains with), this won't likely be the case. Mileage is decent but not earth shattering enough to really blow you away, and reliability has been poor, in particular the new CVT has been quite terrible in the Pat. There's a good chance the hybrid Pathfinder powertrain could find its way into the Murano, which could spark some interest from consumers.
