:ohno: I bought a 2015 Murano Platinum AWD one month ago and have noted that the handling is very touchy at speed. Too touchy. You are always overcorrecting and the car does not track well. Any little road irregularity will send it off course, and it takes more effort than normal to keep it in your lane. In other words, it is not enjoyable to drive on a freeway at freeway speeds.
Now you ask, who the heck am I to say that? Good question. I have had 2 other Muranos--all great handling, I am a retired military pilot and airline Captain, I have had many cars including Porsche's. MB's, BMW's Lexus, etc. I have taken several high performance and racing school courses. I hope I know how a car should handle, and my 2015 Murano does not handle well. It has been back to the dealer twice so far (1000 miles total) had alignment checked and they say--as usual--that this behavior is normal for this car. Please note that city street handling is fine--only freeway driving at speed is an issue with me.
Anyone else have this experience? --it is subtle but it is there if you pay attention--at least on my car.

Check the tire pressures. Mine came over-inflated with the fronts slightly higher than the backs. I reduced the pressures to the recommended and set the fronts one pound lower than the rears.

Thanks for the idea but I have checked pressure with a super accurate gage and set to fac. specs. I don't think one pound lower will change this behavior but what the heck I will give it a try. But you do not notice the issue I describe?

The characteristics you described are common for most new Nissan vehicles, particularly if you're accustomed to driving a vehicle with good handling. Do an online search to see if any aftermarket companies make an aftermarket Rear Sway Bar, and/or Front Strut Tower Brace for your vehicle. Either one will aide in helping your vehicle drive more stable and straight at highway speeds, and will also improve the steering response on your vehicle. ---- improvement while cornering will also be improved as well.

I have heard this before. Something to do with the new computer driven power steering on Muranos and some other models. What a shame.
I'll talk to my friends in the off road racing community, but i doubt that there is much call for what you describe. The average housewife driver is not going to notice that much. But if you come across any other fixes, please let me know. Thank you.

I'm surfing the forums, when I came across your post. I have a 2015 sv rogue and I experience the same steering feel but after putting on 7,000 miles the steering is working the way it's designed to do. Now I can let go of the steering wheel going 60mph and it will stay straight as an arrow, I can even give it a light nudge left or right side of the wheel without affecting over steering. It seems to have tighten up at high and low speeds, after adding on miles. I'm not sure if the electric steering is affected by speed or engine rpms or both to cause the steering to stiffen up. Maybe a censor putting out a bad signal to the steering control. Mine seems to be working fine now.
