My 2014 Nissan Versa 5 spd has been broke down for over 5 weeks now . I was driving it in Md and it stopped .
Got it towed home . I called a friend of mine and he said to get it checked at a good garage that could diagnose
electronics . Another guy I know who works at a Nissan dealer talked to a mech and he said since I told them
the fuel wasnt pumping, the engine wasnt firing , the fan was running with key on all the time and the obd2 wasnt linking for me .
He said to replace the ecm. I got 2 on Ebay with same part numbers. They both did the same as the original ecm did .
Also I was driving after replacing the spark plugs with a broken timing solenoid I accidently broke at the connector. Also
I had an alernator that was overcharging, it did make toast of my original battery. It boiled out acid toward the transmission area . I did replace the alternator and the battery after investigating the harnesses in the area for damage . I didnt find any .I was able to drive car for about 2-3 weeks till the car stopped on me . Does anyone know
what is wrong with my car , please help if you can . I also bought 2 replacement fuel pumps , neither powers up
Sincerely
Al
please help , especially if your a car electronics car specialist or trouble shooter

I don't typically advocate for replacement of parts for the sake of it, but without any OBD2, it seems our hands are tied.

In your poking around, have you seen whether your car has an IPDM? Fancy talk for the main fusebox from the battery. Could you check its fuses and relays, make sure it didn't get wet etc? The randomness of the issues point to that, IMO.

If you'd like to chop at the issues one by one, hopefully it doesn't get too costly.
The fan
This tells me either the module is out or more likely, the ECM is seeing an overheat condition. Track your coolant sensors and change them - usually cheap, and mounted high enough in Nissans so you don't lose all your coolant trying to replace a sensor.

The fuel pumps are being told not to pump by some logic. Normally I'd say the crankshaft sensor is suspect as that typically shuts off the fuel pumps, but the fan situation tells me it's likely trying to prevent an overheat condition. Heck, just for testing purposes, disconnect the fan harnesses to see if the car starts.

Also, this will be handy as you troubleshoot you vehicle - the factory service manual. Basically a Haynes manual for Nissan, by Nissan. It is linked in my sig.

it sounds simple, but have you had the battery load tested? I have had low batteries show similar symptoms in other vehicals

Today , I discoonected the fan harness , so fan doesnt come on during cranking . Then I removed the battery pan
and cleaned and repainted it . Also cleaned a lot of acid deposits under the battery pan . Tried to start and it still
didnt catch , and still no info from the obd2 Any ideas ?

Can you borrow another battery and use that? If that works, then perhaps the alternator isn't connected properly to charge the battery, so you got a couple weeks off of the initial charge, but's it's died since. Also, since you're having power supply issues, you'll need to check fuses and ground wires almost each time you connect the battery or try a start to make sure something else hasn't popped.
