Bought my '14 Rogue SL on 12/28, then noticed this alignment problem 2 weeks later, after some very cold Chicago weather. Dealership is fixing it for free of course, but interesting that when I dropped it off, another Rogue owner with a '12 SV came in with the exact same problem. We had some minus-15 temps with a foot of snow, followed by a 40+ degree warm-up all within a two week time period. Anyone else experience this?

Eeek... so you don't know if it was like this from the get-go or if this just developed.... I would imagine it was like this from the factory. I'll give Nissan a pass on this one since I've heard the same reports from other manufacturers... If I were you though, I'd be checking for the "water in the hatch" issue that a couple of others report (and is known by nissan)

Thanks Leonard1818. I'd like to think I would have seen this when I first looked over the vehicle and test drove it, but it's possible I just missed it. no "water in the hatch" so far and I had heard about that from a friend who works for Nissan.

Looking directly at the rear hatch, it looks like a Toyota Sienna.

Sorry I know this is off topic.

I dropped my Rogue off at the dealer to have an auto-dimming mirror installed and talked to the sales guys. They said there were 622 2014 Rogues manufactured with the rear hatch leak issue, and they already have a cure for it that will work. This dealer had two such vehicles, one of which they said they've already fixed, and the other that was in the shop when I was there. I wonder how they know this problem was limited to only 622 vehicles?

As for the styling, I'm so glad I got a 2013 Rogue. Initially, I was attracted to Mazda because I love the look of the back of the CX-9, but it's too big for my needs. The CX-5 back end looks so bland and generic, like a Hyundai, Ford, or other boring, undistinguished vehicle. The first generation Rogue has a round dumpy look to it all around, but it's kind of appealing to me, and I love how the reverse lights protrude out like giant eyeballs or baseballs. The 2014 Rogue is more like an old lady's minivan.

I'm curious if it was limited to the SL model. I checked my SV and it looks good.

To my understanding, car manufacturers will run production in batches. So they will run SL one full batch, then S with fog lights, then SV with premium package, etc. hopefully it was just a batch error.

I liked the look of the '13 Rogue, but the '14 back-end doesn't look bad at all imo. Comparing it to a Sienna when looking straight on - maybe there's a similarity, but only if you view it in a flat / straight back perspective... Image

Had this problem on my 2014 Rogue (SV 2WD). Looks exactly the same as Von-T's. Had it serviced by the dealer with no charge.

I'm located in Oahu, HI. The dealer is Tony Nissan.

The service representative at the dealer told me that my Rogue was the 4th worked on for this issue.

The hatch does not leak, apparently alignment is independent of the gasket that seals fine when the hatch is closed.

Personally, I like the back design of the Rogue. I've studied design (Product and Industrial Design; worked at my instructor's design studio designing farings for motorcycles) in art school for whatever that accounts for.

I'll have to ask if other members on this thread experienced any other issues.

Otherwise, I enjoy my Rogue. It is perfect for my needs as a commuter and family car.

You've already posted this in an open thread, so there was no need to start a new thread for the same subject. I've deleted it.

Does anybody know what the dealership fixed for the alignment problem? I'm having the same problem on my 14' Rogue and the dealership said they never seen the problem before. It goes to the Nissan bodyshop on Tuesday so hoping to find out the problem so I can let them know. Also has anyone paid out of pocket to fix this problem? The dealership said it's something I might have to pay to fix.
