After a wreck that totaled my Hyundai Tucson last month, I purchased a Rogue SL with 24k miles. In doing my research, I noticed the fuel pump had been replaced at 2,500 miles, due to the recall I assume. First owner then sold the car at 5,000 miles and 2nd owner kept it without issue until I bought it.
It still has a manufactures warranty until July, 2017. Within a week of purchase, I noticed the warning indicator that said fuel door open. I was sure I had clicked it closed. It did it twice, so I brought it in. They said there was a small hole and they would order a part, bring the car back in 3 days for repair. Brought it back, and the repair didn't hold when they test drove it.
So they put me in a rental and are replacing the fuel pump, again. It has now been over a week and I am still in the rental. Clearly, I have grave concerns about this issue and while I got a great price on the car and I am not upside down, I can't afford to take a loss on the taxes ect. High school teacher, single Mom.
Of course, after doing all the reading on this board, I am very concerned I've purchased a headache. Any advice would be appreciated.
