Not to hijack, but I think this is related...
What is the difference between the average economy and the ECO report? I think I know but I want confirmation.
I think the Average Fuel Economy (selected while driving, with the steering wheel buttons) is the average mpg since the last time you reset it with the steering wheel "square" button.
And, I believe the ECO Report (shows up when you turn off the ignition, and before the driver's door is opened), is the average mpg since you last started the ignition.
Today I took the family (4 of us total) out for lunch, a 100 mile round trip to a destination in the mountains (cruise set to 61 mph). Before leaving home, I reset the Average Economy. I made it to my destination and then on the way back home, filled the tank (with the ignition switched off). When I arrived home, my average economy was 31.5 mpg. When I turned the engine off, the ECO report said that my average was 38.5 mpg.
I'm assuming the 31.5 mpg was the average for the total trip of 100 miles (since I last manually reset the meter), and the 38.5 mpg was the average from the gas station, where I turned the ignition off, to my home. The 50 mile trip home was mostly downhill going from 3500 feet above sea level down to about 300 feet above.
Am I correct in thinking that the ECO Report is in fact calculating from the last "ignition ON, to when you turn the ignition off?
