It has been only 2 weeks since I got this vehicle here in Canada. I think the US and Canadian versions are probably the same except for maybe mandatory Daytime Running lights here.

I wanted to find out the liftgate setting can be adjusted on the SV trip. Reading the manual, it is not clear if this is an option only on the SL trim or SV with Tech package which has a power liftgate. Right now the liftgate opens too high and almost touches my garages door when it is open. Was hoping to be able to stop it from opening all the way up.

From page 3-27 of the Owners manual I read below and thought I could do this, but I have no liftgate switch either on the Intelligent Key remote or on the liftgate itself.

"
LIFTGATE POSITION SETTING
The liftgate can be set to open to a specific height
by performing the following:
1. Open the liftgate using the request switch or
the Intelligent Key.
2. Pull the liftgate down to the desired position
and hold the liftgate (the liftgate will have
some resistance when being manually adjusted).
3. While holding the liftgate in position, press
and hold the liftgate switch located
on the liftgate for approximately 5 seconds
or until 3 beeps are heard.
The liftgate will open to the selected position
setting. To change the position of the liftgate,
repeat steps 1-3 for setting the position of the
liftgate.

Sorry to say, but if yours is a manual liftgate, you cannot program the height at which it opens to. AFAIK, the only way for you to accomplish this would be to change out the shocks.

I don't think that this can be done nicely without a custom mounting option for new struts.

Not nice looking ways would be a cord/chain to keep it from opening all the way. Maybe some kind of wedge at the hinges to limit how far it opened?

Back into your garage where there is more headroom for the hatch?

Personally, I would probably fasten a pool noodle to the garage door to keep it from messing up the hatch.

I like the pool noodle to garage door option. I cannot reverse into garage as it has very little room between wall and front license plate and at the back between rear bumper and garage door. Also will usually have something or other to retrieve from trunk before going into house. In winter when it is snowing don't want to be doing this on driveway first before parking inside garage.
