Hi all, hoping someone can help with this. The little button on the driver's side outer door handle that locks/unlocks my SUV stopped working recently. Pass side and trunk both work normally. I ordered and off-brand handle with the smart chip in it and attempted to replace the OEM handle today. Things went well until I realized the new part didn't quite fit. At that point, I figured I'd just take off the pass side handle, and swap that sensor with the drv side. I got everything back together, but lo and behold, the drv side button still doesn't work. However, the pass side works with the sensor that I put in it from the drv side.

So...I'm guessing it's another problem. I remember reading somewhere that there's an antenna in the door, and if that's bad, the keyless entry might not work? Not sure if it's related, but I've occasionally got the "key not detected" message when sitting in the driver's seat, but it's always gone away. Any ideas on this? If it is the antenna in the door, is it easy to replace? Thanks! :bigthumb:

Check the wiring underneath the rubber umbilical boot on your driver door. The gen2 Rogue door harnesses take a peculiar bend which makes them prone to fatigue if the installer twisted them the wrong way at the factory. Look for razor-thin breaks in the insulation on multiple wires. If you find it, replace the whole door harness. Repair is futile, more wires will break the longer it remains in service.

Thanks, I will check that out! Do you happen to know the part number for the door harness?

There are four different harnesses depending on your options and where your car was made (US, Korea, Japan). Visit https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/ and enter your VIN number, then visit this page:
