2014 Rogue SL /Premium - Electronic Rear View Mirror

I thought the Electronic Auto-dimming Rear View Mirror was standard in the 2014 Rogue SL with the Premium package,.. as we saw it on the two cars we looked at (at other dealers) before purchasing.... but our car has the mirror without homelink and compass. Can other owners confirm what they got ?

I am assuming what we saw must have been factory ordered as extras.

Not that big a deal as we have remotes for the garage door, and there is a compass on the information cluster...just something my wife is use to in her older cars!

I was toying with ordering one to surprise her, but I think its $300 just for the part!!) .. that's a bit pricey with labour.

It was standard on the SL in 2013 and not offered as a factory or dealer option on all lower trims when the 2013s first came out. Then after the 2014s were out, it was offered as a dealer option on the lower trims of leftover 2013s.

It is a factory or dealer option on all 2014 trims. It does not come standard on any of them.

My SL had it listed as a dealer installed option.

Sorry I'm late in the game here. Wanted to say that I just had mine put in. I was bummed also that was not included with the Premium Package and really thought it was dumb to omit from it this year. I LOVE it! Won't go back to not having one if I can help it. Did you ever get one put in? The cost was steep, I agree but I had mine bought and installed by the dealer for around $400.... But I'm so glad it's in now.

Very good question. I was surprised it didn't come standard also. I just bought one off eBay from a Nissan dealer for $188 plus $15 shipping. I thought about installing it myself but when I read the Nissan installation instructions online, I hesitated. They recommend dealer installation. While not a surprise, as it will earn them money, there are a lot of panel removal tools required that nobody probably owns. Thus, I've decided to have the dealer install it. I haven't priced the labor for installation yet but saw that one guy paid $400 for the part and the labor, so I'm hoping the install is around $150 or less...

The initial dealer quote for install of the homelink rearview mirror was $62 predicated on the fact that the required wiring would already be in the car. It was not. That pushed the price up to about $130 for install. So together with the $203 I paid for the mirror, it brought the total investment in the mirror to $333. Still quite a bit cheaper than the "dealer installed option" sticker price I saw on one of the Rogues of $600. About half price. Bottom line: don't pay $600 when buying the car. Either negotiate it down by $300 if it's already installed or do what I did if it's not installed and have it done later for half the price...
