nico and its members would really appreciate it more if you put each mod into its respective thread. if you want to run your own thread, that's fine, but then simply copy & paste into an already existing thread, or make a new one.(dont make mods do it for you)

we like to keep things 'tidy' around here. i am sure you understand. :dblthumb:

I think I understand. So you want each mod in a new post under what its for? So I cant make a log for everything I do under one post?
If that's right then no problem.

Maybe you guys can shed some light on this subject...

I wanted to upgrade my stock speakers with something a little better. If I understand correctly the standard system has 4 door speakers (2 front, 2 rear) and 1 set of tweeters up in the dash. I don't want to put super high end speaker nor do I want to have to add an amp. Does anyone know if the stock head unit puts out enough watts to have decent aftermarket speakers sound good without an amp? Also, different website list different sizes for the door speakers, what are the exact specs?

Thanks for your help!

The original thread is about the rogue select. Are the speakers the same in the redesigned '14 rogue non-select? I'm curious too.

I'm not sure about the 2014 non select model. But I can say that this deck does not put out very much power. I am currently still running the stock deck along with 6 and half inch speakers in all the doors that can handle 90 watts RMS. Also the speakers that I am using are 2 ohms so that should get more power out of the deck. The sound system does sound decent but adding a line converter and amplifier would sure make this into a high quality sound system. My plans are to install a parrot double din deck that runs off of a Android operating system. and my speakers will be hooked up to my JL xD amp 4/400

5.56...

Sir I used the search function and did see this thread...

This topic refers to a "Rogue Select" and not the newer Rogue. IF the speakers are exactly the same size AND both head units put out the exact same watts then I guess my new post was not necessary. I have been an active member on several car forums (3 BMW, 1 Jeep) for over 10 years and this is the only one where questions are shut down so quicky with "read the manual or use the search".

My apologies for not knowing that the Select and 2014 have the exact same speakers and head unit... that is why this was merged correct?

Thats what I was afraid of, that the head unit doesnt put out much power. I guess my options would be to find speakers that sound better and dont need a lot of juice OR hide an amp under the passenger seat in my 2014. It looks like theres a lot of room under there. Do you know how the service department looks upon upgrades such as these? Again I'm new to Nissan and I dont know if they would hassel me about the amp and all.

I can take mine out and take pics of the unit, or send me a pic of the face im sure if the face is the same then its the same unit. And the fronts are 6x9 and backs are 6.5s and the dash has speakers not tweeters but they are crossed over. If you ask me all the speakers and the stock deck is junk, but im a car audio guy so I might be alot picker then others.

rh..

I WAS a car audio guy back in the late 90's.... but I agree with you it doesn't take an audiophile to know these stock speakers aren't the best. Its been so long I dont even know what speakers are considered good now a days. Back when I did car audio it was Boston Pros and Focal were good Polk were ok. Amps for SQ were JL or raw power something like MTX.

What brand speakers are you currently running of the stock head?

Dont think all stock speakers are bad, my 2012 kia sportage had great stock speakers and took 90 watts from my JL amp. But in the Rogue I am running Infinity Kappa 60.9cs for the fronts and Infinity Kappa 62.11I for the backs.. Oh and Focal is still one of the best :)
