Hi everyone,

My mother is close to buying a 2014 Rogue, however she is not 'sold' on the seat comfort of the cloth seats in the SV model. The angle of the cushion seems to put too much pressure on her thighs. Other CUV's we looked at, like the Santa Fe,have adjustable seat tilt help alleviate that - but it appears based on our test that the 6 way power seats in the Rogue don't allow for this.

Other than this small but important issue, my mother is sold on the car. So I am wondering, if she steps up to tthe SL model with leather, does the seat change? eg: is it a different seat at all? Any different adjustment options ( I don't think so, but hoping an SL-owner can confirm)

Appreciate any comments.

On Nissan's website it say's the SV and SL both have 6 way power driver seat.

I would just stop by the dealer again and look at a SL model and see if there is a difference. I wouldn't call because they will probably just say yes.

Having owned two SV Rogue's with the SL premium package, and leather seats, I can add my 2¢.

She's correct in her assessment that the 6-way adjustable seat cannot be lowered in the front. In short, the only difference between the cloth and the leather seats is the covering material, otherwise they are identical.

Also, while not specified in the original post, I assume the vehicle in question is a Rogue Select model, as the second gen Rogue seats have been completely redesigned and by all accounts do not have this issue.

No, this is a 2014 Rogue SV (new redesign)- The seats still have a stupid rake to them and pinch on the upper thigh...Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but they aren't apparently redone...

Thanks - appreciate the link. However, that's for a 1st Gen Rogue - Not a 2nd Gen as I am querying about.

They are different somehow, they label them as Zero Gravity seats. These are the same seats that they put in the 2013 Altima.
If you Google around they do have very mixed reviews. http://articles.sae.org/11073/
As your mom has noticed others have said the same thing, http://suvs.about.com/od/nissan/ss/2014 ... ery_15.htm

Just to clarify, the first gen Rogue is still available as a 2014 model, and is called the Select version. Daryl is correct, the 2nd gen Rogue has Zero gravity seats. As you can see in the fotos below, the seats are clearly different.

I am NOT referring the the Select - I am talking about the 2nd Gen, all-new 2014 Rogue - just to be clear...again.
The Zero-Gravity Seats still provide upper thigh pain, apparently.

The "zero gravity" seats would be way more comfortable with a tilt option. Even my crappy rust bucket Escape had a tilt feature.

I find that it is very hard to find a good combination of height, recline, and distance for the seat that results in a comfortable seating position for a long drive. In the position that was the most comfortable for my legs, I had to lean forward to reach the steering wheel. If I move the seat forward, my legs start to get cramped and there's no thigh support. If I raise the height, I get my thigh support but then the ride position is a lot higher than what I like. What probably does not help is that the dead pedal area seems like it is too close to the driver to comfortably rest their foot on it, and I'm not exactly tall either (5' 7").

I think there will always be mixed reviews on something like seats. I have the 2014 Rogue SL- I believe the only difference between the SL and SV are fabric vs. Leather.

I find the seats extremely comfortable. The seats do not pinch my thighs in any way. With that said- I am only 5'1- I put the seat up as high as it can go, so the front of my seat is not higher than the back in any case. It would seem the people that have complaint about the seats seem to be on the taller side?

My husband is 6'1- He doesn't care for my passenger side seat because when it rains his eyes track right through a large portion of the windshield that the wipers don't hit. When he drives my rogue, he hasn't had any complaint about the seat ( he did drive a 2 hour trip there and then back- only comment he made is comfortable seat- and awesome sound system. lol )

Look at me digging up an old thread instead of starting a new one!

Anyway, in the picture of the 2nd gen Rogue interior, you can see the lift handle for the passenger side seat. Mine has come completely off. Obviously, I don't need the part. But I can't figure out how to re-attach it. If I thread it onto the little metal piece that sticks out from the seat assembly, it just falls off again. Anyone know how this piece attaches to the seat assembly? Thanks!

Thanks, man. I appreciate it.

The only thing I'm seeing that seems like it's addressing my issue, though, is the diagram at the bottom of page 56 (step 7.a.i.). Based on that diagram, the only part that secures the recline lever is a snap ring. Would you agree with that? Or do you think there are other clips/pawls (I'd never even heard that term until I looked at this manual!)?

Again, thanks!
