April 9, 2015 — Nissan is recalling over 76,200 model year 2014 Nissan Rogues to fix problems that cause fuel pump failures.

Nissan says nickel-plated particles can detach from the fuel pump's cover and move into a space between the impeller and the pump cover. The particles are enough to stop the impeller from rotating and cause the engine to fail to start.

If particles interfere with the pump while the car is running, the engine will immediately stall. Nissan says power will remain, at least enough to keep the airbags working and give the driver a chance to bring the car to a controlled stop.

The automaker says the recalled 2014 Nissan Rogue vehicles were manufactured June 11, 2013, to June 7, 2014.

Nissan dealers will replace the fuel pump during the recall, which should begin at some point in April 2015.

Owners with questions about the 2014 Nissan Rogue recall can call the automaker at 800-647-7261.

So I assume we will get notification if our Rogue is affected?

Hmm. I wonder of the dealers already have the corrected parts?

I was at my local Nissan for other reasons, door locks went crazy and killed my battery. They told me about the recall a couple days before it got posted online but they did not have parts. They said probably in a couple weeks. I wouldn't keep my hopes up for them having the parts yet, but i would definitely call them before you go.

Not yet. I really wonder how many of those 76000 will actually be contacted....maybe when business will be slow now and then.

I just received the notice in the mail today.

It says they expect parts to be available by December, and they will send another letter that that time.

Hi everyone. I've noticed under hard acceleration that my 2014 sv awd Rogue stutters from 0-70mph. Would you guys think that a faulty fuel pump can be the culprit? Getting ready to bring it in and getting ready for them to give me the old "thats normal with the new Rogue" phrase. thanks

It's a small possibility, but I doubt it is related to this recall. The problem with the pump is that the nickel playing can come loss and block the impeller which means the pump would not work at all. There is a chance a smaller piece broke off and is clogging your filter, but good luck getting that fixed if that's the case. The fuel filter is not designed to be replaceable on the new Rogues (it's in the tank...)

My Dad's 2015 has this issue. The engine cut off in the fast lane of the NJ Turnpike. The dealer has had it for 2 weeks now. I haven't got a notice for my 2014 yet.

Did you get a notice that parts were available or did they just do it anyway?

Had the recall work done Monday. Same as above - called about it, they ordered parts, and they called me when the parts were in. Took about 1-1.5 hours, no problems. No difference in how the car drives afterwards although I wasn't expecting one so that's good.

I got the letter a while ago and it said the dealer would call me when the parts were in. The letter did say the parts would be in around December. I went for service a week ago and they never mentioned the pump. I guess I have to ask to have it replaced as others dealers got their parts.

I called Nissan Canada and they told me that the replacement pumps are backordered. She then told me to speak with my service manager and he would tell me when he expects them to arrive. I told her that it was actually him that suggested I call Nissan Canada because apparently the dealerships have no clue when they'll be getting them. She appologized and said that my dealership will conatact me when they receive it but she couldn't give me a date. In other words a worthless call. She actually told me that the recall dates back to this spring but this thread goes back to last year so maybe Nissan America got the recall before Canada? Anyhow funny how you can submit a recall but not be able to honor it.
