Basically I'm deciding if I should buy the current 2014 model or wait for the 2015 model to come out (eta?). Our current murano won't last the winter. Since the 2014 Rogue is the first year of the redesign, would it be smarter to wait it out? Are there any known problems yet?

The price of the 2014 Murano SL is nearly identical to the Rogue SL with the 6k incentive. I know Murano has new design in 2015 but what are your thoughts on which to purchase between the 2014 Murano and 2014 Rogue?

I always wanted a murano but could never afford v6 (on top of all my mods that I can't live without :chuckle: ) but with my new job I may consider a '15 Murano by the end of next year.

We had a 2004 Murano SL and when it's transmission died (at 120,018 miles...no kidding  ) last year we got a 2013 Rogue. The 2013 always felt like a step down to me, so when the redesigned 2014 came out I went ahead and traded for it. I've got the SL Premium and must say that I don't miss the Murano anymore.

That being said, I guess it comes down to feature for the '14 Murano versus '14 Rogue. If the features are the same (or it's things you feel like you can live without), I'd stick with the Murano. But, if you have to go with the '14 Rogue, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Chances are the 2015 Rogue will be identical to the 2014, if there are any minor changes/tweaks to parts etc to address little problems it's probably too early for them to show up in 2015. I'd look at the list of technical service bulletins and any recalls on 2014's to know more details, any of the TSB's will retroactively be applied to the 2014 models, or will come already updated in the 2015 - judge for yourself if you see any significance but overall I think the 2014 has been quite trouble-free. 2016 could see some tweaks, but its too early to tell....

As for the Murano vs. Rogue debate, that comes down to personal preference. The advantage to the Murano is that it's a solid, established design that has really high reliability ratings, whereas the Rogue still requires time to tell how reliable it will be. The Rogue obviously gets much better gas mileage, depending on how many miles you drive per year and your cash flow this may or may not be important. With the redesigned 2014 Rogue I see less and less reason to look at the Murano, because the Rogue is almost as large, however the V6 in the Murano will be much smoother and quieter than the 4 cylinder Rogue. Everyone's opinion will be slightly different, I don't think you can really go wrong with either model.
