First post. My daughter’s 2014 Rogue hesitates upon pressing the gas from a stopped position. She says it happens after driving it a while, she’ll stop for a stoplight, and when she goes to press the gas pedal, it hesitates for a couple of seconds before it takes off. She says there is zero problems while driving. She’s away at school so I’m worried that she’ll either hit someone in front of her at a light because it might lurch forward, or it’ll hesitate and someone will nail her from behind thinking she’s moving.

Any idea?

Okay, let's start with the obvious.

How many miles on the vehicle? When was it last serviced? What service was performed? Have the fuel injectors been cleaned? What about cleaning the MAF sensor and the PCV? Does she buy her gas from a station that does high volume or some no name place that may be cutting it (yes in this day and age it still happens).
