Hard to say, given this vehicle has only been on the market for barely a month. Two weeks ago my local dealership had just one in, they now have five, so it's not like there's a sizable number of people driving the new Rogue who can offer insight on things unique to this vehicle.lionhead wrote:Hi all
I have noticed on the Rogue engine bay at the fenders that there is a big gap. These are normally closed off on other cars. Concern is that something could fall in, cause rattle and damage the outer skin. A mechanic tool, leaves or other debri can get in there. I asked two dealership and they could not give me a logical answer. One dealer mentioned that this is a standard Rogue design and is also from previous year models.
Has anyone with the older models years had issues on something falling in there and causing issues?
Thank you.

and what exactly is your question/concern? we obviously cant re-engineer the vehicle.lionhead wrote:Hi all.
The gap i am referring to is under the hood inside the engine bay. Both sides of fender on top where hood meets. They used brackets instead of closing this off. The dealer says this is the same as 2013 Rogue.
I dont have my Rogue yet since the local dealer here dont have the trim package we want. Ill take a pic on my next trip, we still need to test drive on uphill road.
Thanks

Working on our standup routine?ImStricken wrote:wow ok, now i see what the OP is talking about. im gonna mark it up in photo shop for everyone. its totally obvious and nasty looking from these pics. the OP has a valid point.

I guess it's possible. Just out of curiosity, how much in the way of debris did you find when you pulled yours apart? Was there any significant leaf damage?ImStricken wrote:what the designers did was raise the fenders, to be taller - but left the framing of the car the same. that created more gaps between unibody and the fenders. its pretty ugly, and could start accumulating crap for sure. the gap is more pronounced than in earlier models for sure.
i see the sarcasm lololol but to be fair, ours are designed MUCH better. seems the wide open gaps in the '14 model are wider than a whales mouth.Rogue One wrote:I guess it's possible.
