Has anyone had this problem yet? When I called the service department of the place I bought it, he said I must be doing something wrong then immediately put me through to sales. Nice.

As you can see in the picture, the car only has 322 miles on it. Today was my first fill up. According to the range, I had 126 miles remaining and I had to drive a bunch of miles today so I filled it up. My estimate Range didn't change and kept decreasing.

I reset my Trip A meter which shows I drove 94.6 miles today (and the vehicle was driven multiple times, turned off between trips).

I still have a little over 3/4 of a tank of gas left. I don't think I'll be trusting my "Range" estimate mileage.

After multiple calls, I'm nowhere better than I was before. I'm starting to not like NIssan.

Good Luck. We're not at all happy with our 2013 Rogue. We had 4 adults in ours, and it sounded like it was going to blow up every hill we climbed. It drowns out the radio. MPG is getting worse and worse to ? Navigation got us lost once again at night. Was hoping it would correct, but it didn't, "again". Drove around on country roads until we found a highway and a gas station for directions. Once we got back on the road where it made the wrong turn it corrected finally after that point. On the way home it had no issues on the same route. Seriously considering a KIA V-6 when our income tax check comes in to put down. We're going to take a beating trading this in with 6,500 miles. I partially blame myself, and the sales lady. We live in the mountains and I wasn't sure whether a 4 cyl. in that size car would be a good choice, but for the first couple thousand miles we were more than happy with it in the mountains. And the sales lady because she told us that car with the CVT was a good choice for constant mountain use. Service drives the car and everything is always normal, except they did admit they have many complaints on the navigation units. They checked and there is no update so live with it. The engine roars like it does because that is a characteristic of a CVT ?

Well, I called and made an appointment at the nearest Nissan Dealer and about 30 minutes later, the service manager from the place I bought it called to see what the issue was. I explained it and he was very thorough in explaining how many sensors were in the tank, what the possible issues were, etc. etc. THIS is the stuff I want to hear on the phone. After we talked a bit he said, "You know, when we first get a vehicle in from Nissan, it's put in a shipping mode where there's a fuze that is out. We are supposed to put that back in which enables other stuff and that sensor MAY be one of them." He then explained how to get to the fuse block (I NEVER would have thought to look on the far left side of the dash) and what the fuse looked like (a square white block). He was correct, they forgot to push it in when they took delivery of it. I pushed it in, went and topped off the tank and it worked fine after that. Problem solved and I'm hapy again.

ricbrk, sorry to hear about your Rogue issues. This is my first Nissan so this is a whole new experience for me. My nearest dealer is 40 miles away and in trying to purchase a car from them (I mean I REALLY REALLY wanted to) they offended me so much I contacted Nissan to complain. After Nissan Consumer affairs or whoever contacted that dealer, the sales manager called me up and yelled at me and called me a liar. So I called Nissan again to complain... again. *THIS* is the nearest place I can take my car to get serviced. The place I bought it is about 80 miles away so it's not a viable solution for me to take it there. But all in all, I really like the Rogue (so far - it's only been 4 days) and in horrible snow it drives better than any vehicle I've ever had. Time will tell if things start to fail but I have my fingers crossed. The CVT is the only thing I am nervous about and would have gladly paid extra for a standard transmission.

Ironically, when I asked my sales guy about the CVT transmissions because of all the horror stories I'd read he assured me that even if they fail, they are SUPER easy and cheap to fix. After lurking here for the past month I'm finding out that that is not true so I'm hoping if my CVT fails, it's within the first year because I put about 30,000 miles on a year pretty easily.

My personal opinion since you would take a bath on it (I took a bath on my 2012 Hyundai I traded it but because I hated it so much I didn't care) is to keep it and drive the hell out of it. If the CVT is going bad, you'll get a new one for free and you'll possibly get the newer, updated one that is in the 2014.

Interesting - this is a common issue with the Z as well, it usually manifests itself in radio presets and homelink programming being lost. My Z had a big hang-tag on the rear view mirror when I took delivery with a big bold red warning for the dealer to push in the extended storage fuse. Mine had been done - but it's amazing the incompetence of so many dealerships.

Glad you were able to find the solution.

Seriously? You chime in on a thread with nothing to add except for your sob story about how much you hate your Rogue?

I've never understood the logic of folks who loathe their car so they join an enthusiast forum to whine and moan every chance they get about how this is the worst car ever. Sorry you're unhappy, but why try to rain on everyone's parade? There's no vast CVT conspiracy, despite what a few Debbie-Downers on the forum want to suggest. There are failures, which are real - and I'm sorry folks have to experience that with any vehicle, but there are also uninformed consumers who don't understand the difference between a CVT and conventional automatic and find themselves unwilling to accept those differences after the honeymoon period with their new car wears off.

It sounds harsh, but it seems obvious that you made an ill-informed purchase (taking a salesperson's word, especially) of a vehicle that doesn't fit your needs and now you're deep into the throes of buyer's remorse. Trust me, I was once in your spot with a new vehicle purchase that was an awful experience for me - but I didn't join that car's forum just to repeatedly tell all the happy owners how awful their car was. I did what McHale suggests - I sold it, took the financial hit, and got into a car that made me happy. I'd suggest you do the same.

I belong to a few Forum's Rockhound, and I am normally more interested in the positive aspects of brand ownership. I guess owning Suzuki cars for 20 + years spoiled us. With exception of normal maintenance, the cars never saw a dealership. Since Suzuki no longer sells in the US, we needed to replace our 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara with a hundred sixty thousand uneventful miles. We chose Nissan. If things would have worked out, we would have bought their product forever. It didn't. The build quality of the Nissan we bought is drastically inferior than any Suzuki we ever owned. Even our 2008 SX4 that we still own. I also belong to a Jeep forum that actually has quite a few dissatisfied members but a Jeep is a Jeep. You love them or hate them. Anyway, I did little research on the Rogue, that is my fault. I just relied on the fact the company has been around for awhile and we liked the appearance of the car. Relying on the word of a saleslady was a mistake also. If I would have only thought of joining a forum like this to explain to other members where I live and how the car would be used and asking questions before purchasing I probably would not have spent 30 thousand dollars on a vehicle that doesn't suit my needs. But at least we got some good news. The dealership we purchased our Suzuki's from for 20 years now sells KIA. We took the Rogue over, and told them the car was to underpowered for where we live. I feel they fixed us up pretty good. With the rebates available on the 2014 KIA Sorrento's, the Rogue as a trade, and 0 percent financing, the payment was a little under what we pay now but we have to start over again for 5 years. I'd say reasonable, but we were 7 month's ahead on the payment's on the Rogue. The color is somewhat the same as the Rogue, a little darker. It has a 3.3 V6 with regular transmission. We purchased a 6 year 72,000 mile extended warranty on the Rogue, so my last battle with the dealership will be a refund on that. You guys take care, and wishing you all a good relationship with your Rogue's.

^ That's a beautiful Sorrento, ricbrk. Again, sorry the Rogue was such a lousy experience - I know how miserable it is to be in that situation. Your Kia looks great and hopefully will be a better fit for your needs.

The pro-rated refund for the warranty seems to be in the fine print of your contract. Take a look at that.
