I've developed an annoying dash rattle basically where the gauge cluster meets the dashboard. If I shove a piece of cloth etc between the dash and the windshield, it stops the rattle while driving. But the rattle still comes back when braking.

Anyone encounter any dash rattles yet? Seems like they did a great job with the soft touch dash, but there is still lots of hard plastic to be found? Especially surrounding the gauges.

Cheers

There is a faint rattle I get when going over certain bumps but I've yet to figure out where it's coming from.

I have a rattle that comes from the chrome rings around the gauge cluster. When I hold the chrome trim with my fingers it stops. Haven't figured out how to permanently stop it because the space between the cluster and the dash is so narrow that nothing fits in between.

Sound similar to mine. The plastic ring surrounding the gauges or the black upper plastic gauge visor.

I was messing with it today and I found that adjusting (in my case lowering) the steering wheel resolved some of my rattle. It was close to its highest setting when the rattling occurred. I lowered it and it helped.

The chrome rings are part of the entire cluster, which is overall flimsy. My noise comes from the chrome rings and definitely not from the upper gauge visor. My steering wheel has always been set fairly low. When I tried putting something between the chrome rings and the dash, I realized that these is not through space in between and nothing fits there.

Could this be the issue? :

Nissan's 2014 Rogue recently won top honors in crash tests, however some of the crossovers are being recalled over a potentially serious safety issue.

Certain vehicles in a batch of 1,644 units manufactured from January 10 through January 17 may have been assembled with the incorrect bolts connecting the intermediate shaft to the upper steering assembly.

The company warns that the incorrect bolts could loosen and fall out, resulting in a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash. Drivers may receive an early warning if the steering assembly begins to rattle, indicating the bolts have loosened.

The company has blamed a supplier for delivering a tote full of incorrect bolts that were subsequently installed in vehicles.

Owners will be notified to bring their Rogue in to a service center to be inspected and repaired if necessary. The problem is believed to be limited to a small number of vehicles.
