So this started about 2 weeks ago. I have no issues opening the lift gate with button in the dash and remote. But when pressing the buttons to close , it beeps like usual as if it will start closing followed by a continues 2 second beep and it just does nothing. Any suggestions?
I’ll try unplugging the battery tomorrow to see if it resets the control module for the gate.

Try resetting it. Often those instructions can be found in your owners manual. These are generic instructions:
Sometimes the liftgate can lose it's reference points and it needs to be reset.

The power liftgate may not operate properly and may need to be reset if any of these conditions occur:
• A low voltage or dead battery
• Disconnected battery
• The liftgate is manually closed and left ajar (unlatched)

To reset the power liftgate:
1. Disconnect the battery for 20 seconds then, reconnect the battery.
2. Manually close and fully latch the liftgate.
3. Power open the liftgate by using the integrated keyhead transmitter, or the instrument panel control button.

Update: so I disconnected the battery for over an hour and nothing has changed. I tried the suggestion above and same as well. Again opens just fine and closing is the problem.
Anyone know where the control module for the lift gate is? Would pulling a fuse also help although I disconnected the battery?
