I have a 2014 Rogue SL with 18 inch wheels. I was told by the dealer that for winter put 225/65r/17 inch on it. I got a smoking deal on a set of like new Hakkapeliitta 7 Studded on steel wheels. When I got home I realized they were 225/60r/17 and not 225/65r/17

If I use these is it a big deal? I realize my speed will be off, with stock tires at 62 MPH I will be going 60mph. I can live with that for the winter.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Let me get this straight. You were told that you could put 17" tires on 18" wheels? I hope you're kidding! A 17" tire WILL NOT fit on an 18" wheel. If you even tried to mount a 17" tire on an 18" wheel, it would start to rip the bead and the tire would be completely useless.

LOL, not that stupid. Read my post - I got a smoking deal on a set of like new Hakkapeliitta 7 Studded on steel wheels. When I got home I realized they were 225/60r/17 and not 225/65r/17

I am using the 17 inch wheels they came on

Sorry, my bad. Totally missed that (new glasses will be in next week).

Like you said, speed will probably be off a tad, but I should think those should work.

Can you post some pics?

Pics of what? They are not on the car yet, or just of tires/wheels?

Speedometer AND odometer will be off by a bit, but I wouldn't be too worried about that. My concern would be the lugnut pattern and offset of the wheels. If those aren't compatible with the vehicle, you're going to be in a world of hurt. But I'm guessing you already took care of that, so as long as studded tires are legal where you drive, I don't see any reason not to use them. Personally, I wouldn't use studded tires. I don't even like winter tires. Anyone who doesn't know how to drive in the snow simply shouldn't be out driving in it.

Thanks I assume the bolt pattern will be the same they came off a 2013 rogue, mine is 2014. I have never had studs but the deal was too good. And my 16 year old is starting to drive, plus she is a ski coach so if she drives the car to the hill will be better for her as the roads can get pretty bad.

It's likely that you are correct, but I wouldn't just assume it without checking from a reliable source. The service department at the dealer should be able to tell you rather quickly.
