HI all, just got a 2014 Rogue SV, and was wondering about the AWD. So the car in "normal" mode, is only FWD? If I slip, than the AWD system will kick in temporarily? If I put it on AWD "Lock" I assume that means ALL 4 wheels are spinning like a true AWD car? Now when its on AWD LOCK is there a max. speed limit I can drive or can I drive normal highway speeds 100km/hr ?

hmm...I was reading that ilnk you posted and am still confused. People in that thread seemed confused as well. Theres no clear answer.

When I drive the AWD green light is always on, which I assume it means if the car SLIPS only will the AWD kick in. However, if it's on LOCK, does it turn off by itself when I drive higher speed, cuz doesn't seem so?

The green awd icon mean that awd system is active and working normally. When the car slips the traction control turns on. There's been a thread on how awd system works. When you start driving the system splits the power 50/50 then when you making a turn the system split the power 70 front / 30 rear for easier turns and when you cruising on the highway in order to save gas the full power goes to the front wheels. Now if you lock awd system then the system splits the power 50/50 but then it goes off after 16mph. Check it in the settings of the cluster if you have it available. System would show how the power splits the way you drive.

When my wife got her Murano, I tried to figure out when and how to use the AWD options. I read the manuals and felt that I understood what was being said but, some of it seems pointless. Finally, the consensus from the Murano forum was to just let the computer do the work. If it needs something, the computer will handle it. I think the Rogue will be subject to the same logic. Let the computer handle it. If you need AWD, it will do it. If not, it will handle that also. :dblthumb:
