I had the OEM hitch installed on my 14 today. Fits well and the OEM hitch allows for the replacement of all the plastic cowl pieces (unlike some aftermarket ones). I noticed once I got home that the dealer did not replace the muffler spoiler (left the parts in the boot). I have re-installed it and there is a finger width (15mm) of space between the spoiler and the back of the hitch. I tried moving the muffler around as hard as I could in an attempt to make contact and was not able to. Any idea if the install instructions supplied to the nissan techs mention whether or not the spoiler is to be left off when the OEM hitch is installed?

From a Nissan USA press release...
The coefficient of drag has been reduced by about 10 percent from the previous generation to a class-leading* 0.33 by optimizing the A-pillar section and outside mirror shapes, which also helps reduce wind noise. The turbulence behind the body has been reduced through optimization of the rear roof spoiler, rear side spoiler and rear combination lights. Underbody aerodynamic devices include a Nissan-first muffler spoiler, along with a rear bumper closing panel, fuel tank deflector, rear suspension cover, engine under cover and front tire deflectors.
Spoilers can exist anywhere on a car. In the case of the Rogue they are everywhere.

Found it! Follow above link and do an accessory search to find OEM instructions. It seems the muffler spoiler is to be deleted...or as it is called in that write-up "muffler diffuser bracket."

So I put it back on to see if the 15mm of clearance would be enough. Nope. Started banging when I went up hills or accelerated quickly. Needs just a bit more space.
