2014 Infiniti QX50 - Iphone

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi all,

I've been driving my wife's 2014 Infiniti QX50 (non-navigation) for an interim period until my MB dealer receives my new W222, 2017 S550 to my specs.

My wife used to complain about the horrible menu options on her QX50 to place a call, the voice recognition, the quality of the bluetooth system and her inability to properly play music through the USB without going through a whole ritual. I used to laugh it off but since I must drive her car for the next 2 months, I ain't laughing anymore!

I bypassed most of those problems by simply putting in my iphone earbuds to initiate and receive calls. What I can't get past is the fact that in order to listen to any audio from my Iphone (connected through the USB port in the glovebox) I need to first play a song by initiating the "play" action through the car's system and then I can bypass it by hitting play on the Iphone (I'm addicted to audio books through the Audible app).

Does anyone know whether the entertainment system have a firmware update? The dealer gave me an appointment in 2 weeks!!!

Many thanks in advance.

I have been having Bluetooth problems ever since updating to ios10. I can initiate a call and carry a discussion using the car's system but can't receive a call. It just rings and when I answer via the steering wheel button, the connection to the phone ends. I need to pick up my phone then, which is not prudent

To play music, I need to indeed start the song on my iPhone. That wasn't like that before. I narrowed it down to the iPhone new iOS 10. Worked great before.

Others have Bluetooth problems?

Sounds like they made it much more difficult to navigate than the Ex35 (2010). I don't have my iphone plugged in but a regular iPod nano that I update now and then with audiobooks and such. Navigating isn't so bad at all. Bluetooth however seems to work if I'm more patient, or I'll end up hearing it from phone's speaker

I have a EX35 2010 and my issue is that when i am receiving a call, when i press the steering wheel button, the person on the line doesn't ear me .. I need to put the phone in speaker then back in the car in order to work. i can make calls with no issues.. before i was working flawlessly. Do any of you have the same issue?

That is exactly my problem too. Exactly. Even with the update IOS 10.2. I tried resetting network on the iPhone, turning off and on. Repairing. To no avail. I found a patch from gpsunderground dot com by searching the net bit and worried to install it. But it is so frustrating! It worked perfectly before 10.0 or 10.1 (don't recall).

The bluetooth phonecalls work great with my iPhone in my 14 QX50, just as they did in my 08 EX35. The BT audio works great too, as does the connected audio. My only suggestion is to try using "hey siri call..." to place your calls.
