Good morning Nissan Peeps, I have a very strange issue with my 2014 Frontier. During normal braking the abs system activates causing the brake pedal to pulsate for 2 to 3 seconds. The local dealer has made 6 attempts to fix this unsuccessfully. First I made them put 4 of the same brand and size tires on it. next they said the front wheel bearing was a little loose and replaced both front hub and sensor assemblies. On the next visit they said they found corrosion on the right rear speed sensor assembly and replaced it. No I haven't paid any money, it is a warranty issue. Good thing I have the patience of a saint. Also I have been a tech for 40 years and let them throw parts at it this way I don't have to down the road.... Problem STILL unresolved!! I now am the customer with the truck from hell and they cringe whenever I walk in... I speak only to the Service Manager at this point. I explain to him my background in the repair field and suggest that if I were to look at this truck I would disregard everything anyone has done and start fresh as though I was the very first tech to look at this nightmare, do a complete and full brake inspection checking caliper slides, pad movement in brackets and rotor condition . I set up another visit, drop the vehicle off (number 5 now). They put me in a rental at no charge as usual and keep the truck for 8 days... yes 8 days. they say it is all set. I drive 1/4 mile to get on highway apply brakes and BOOM ABS activates under normal slowing down!!!!! I go home and my wife says "just fix it yourself, this is ridiculous!" So I do the complete brake inspection and find a stripped lug nut on the LR wheel, the rear rotors are severely rotted on the inside and pads are seized in the brackets. WTF!!! Visit #6 they special order OEM spec rear brakes (3 days) Install them, say they drove it 80 miles without issue. I pick up truck and upon slowing down to get on highway.... Boom abs activates.....
If anyone out there has any ideas I would love to hear them before I dive in and properly diagnose this myself.
