This constant come-and-go stuff sounds like a physical/mechanical problem, and maybe more than one.

I am going to take the VIN to Nissan Customer Service or on line and see what recalls are currently shown

Another recommendation was to replace the VVT solenoids - I think there are three.

It vibrates the entire car...walk around and can feel the vibration on the external body panels

The engine shakes when at idle and in park. It does relieve itself a bit when place in neutral yet at the same time the idle ticks up

The dealer wants $190 bucks just to check the car out

May be time to trade this one in !

There are three, but the rear one is "intermediate lock" and is basically a hydraulic on-off switch, so those rarely go bad. The front two are intake and exhaust respectively. However, it's very unlikely the VVT's would cause issues without causing codes. A good scanner which can read the IVT/EVT angles can tell you immediately if that's the issue. Other than a DIY power balance test by pulling coil connectors while it's running, you're pretty much at the point where a streaming scanner is the only thing which will help diagnose the engine.

If I pull each coil connecter one at a time, do i do that with the car running or pull each with the car off and then start the car ?

Will pull off the connectors throw a code ?

Thanks

Do it with the car running. A healthy cylinder will make the RPM's drop substantially, a dead or unhealthy one will cause little or no drop. You may get a P030x code if you leave one disconnected for too long, but a momentary pull is all you need to see if the engine reacts.

If a code does get thrown, how can I clear it after testing ?

Disconnect the negative terminal ?
