back left side underneath the glove box. If yours does not have a cabin air filter installed you will find a cover that is easily removed from the bottom tab. Access is better if you remove the glove box.

Hello, I just discovered that my 2018 Versa S base model 5-speed has a cabin air filter. Never thought such a low priced car would have one. Anyway, at 57000 miles I want to replace it. At Rock Auto Parts I see 2 different kinds of filters for the same vehicle. One has a black plastic frame around the filter element, and the other is a square filter w/o the frame that needs to be scrunched to install. Will either fit? The difference is installation ease? Thanks!

The Versa cabin filters are scrunchies (as are almost all recent models). Maybe the other one is a miscategorized air filter.

Don't think that is the answer. Rock shows both from many different manufactures. There is no indication that the two
variation types don't fit all models.

Well, unless the frames are flexible, I don't see how you'd get them into the hole. If you want to try the framed ones, you'll just have to tell the rest of us how they work out.

Car parts shops are not always the most reliable source for the correct part. To get a more accurate match for parts, enter your VIN at NissanPartsDeal

As VStar pointed out yours takes the scrunchie type (typical with most Nissan vehicles), of which there are two options.
1. Standard air filter # 27278-1KK0A (Replaced By: 27277-1KK0C).
2. Activated Charcoal air filter # 27277-9ME0A.

For off the shelf standard FRAM # FDC12237 and for charcoal FRAM # CF12237

EDIT: Merged with existing topic. Please see my previous post with the DIY video.

Here is the new cabin air filter w/frame. Same as w/o in size, only has stiff sides (not really plastic as advertised.) Both types of filters need to be deformed temporarily to install, but the framed one bends as shown in the picture here. YouTube videos show one w/o frame and scrunched up to install. Both should work on all Versa's with a cabin filter. Haynes repair manual says not all Versa's are equipped with a cabin air filter, but mine is the cheapest base model second generation Versa, so those without must be first gen 2007-2011. This filter is Rock Auto Parts number is 453-6118. Denso electrostatic charged filter.
