2013 Rogue Cigarette lighter power problem

Hello, I searched for an answer but I might be the only person in the world with this problem
My iphone has not been charging for the past few days.
I can see that there is power coming into the lighter because the charger has a green light and it lights up when plugged in.
As soon as i plug in a charging cable, the light goes off.
I looked in at the fuses and the 20 amp fuse for the power outlet was working fine. I looked further at a couple other fuses I thought might be associated, and when i pushed one of them back in, i heard my phone power up. So my husband left the house and it was working fine, after driving for about 30 minutes he noticed the light flickering on and off so his phone was not charging at all.
He parked the car for about an hour and a half and when he came back to drive home, he said no green light at all
what could this be? should i check the fuses under the hood? I would love to avoid taking this in if I can fix it on my own..

Hmm, it's entirely possible the problem might be the charger. Try using a different charger to see if that solves the problem.

Yes I tried several chargers. I tried one with multiple usb ports, it has a light that is red when plugged into the lighter and i think it is supposed to turn green when it is charging but im not sure because as soon as i plug the cable into it the red light goes off. I tried two different ones with just one usb port, and is also green until i plug a cable in.

So i had two charging cables when this all started, and neither of those two cables work. one was the cable that came with my iphone. This afternoon when i thought i fixed it, i used a cable from my house, after fiddling around with the fuse box it started working and then it stopped. Now that cable doesnt work. My car is frying the cables....now what ? thanks for helping me out here
