Hey everyone. I have a reoccurring problem with the fan clutch on my 5.6L QX56. Every once in a while, the fan clutch will kick in and the truck will roar like a Garbage truck!! lol! It doesn't matter if the weather is hot or cold, it just roars to life, usually at a traffic light, or when idling while waiting to pick someone up. It will continue like this until I've shut it off and waited until the engine has cooled down. Never has the temp gauge gone up when, or while experiencing this issue. The biggest issue with having this problem is that when it happens, the high-pressure switch on my A/C compressor gets fried! It's happened three times now, and I've only now have realized the correlation between the fan clutch, and the switch. Has anyone else have a similar incident, or maybe shed some light on why this may be happening?

Thanks in advance!!

Not sure what you mean by a high pressure switch. Your QX should only have a refrigerant pressure sensor, there's no triple switch on it like the old days. It would take the world's weirdest wiring problem for the fan clutch and sensor to affect one another electrically, the sensor is both powered and connected to the ECM while the fan clutch module is powered and controlled by the IPDM and only has a 1-wire data connection to the ECM. If you mean the mechanical pop-off on the compressor is popping and venting refrigerant, that means your A/C has some issue that's making the system go way overpressure and the ECM is responding to it by running the fan full blast..
