preparation:
lesson 1. went to dealer to buy o-ring and washer that are mentioned in factory manuals. I ended up backing home with a engine oil drain plug gasket that dealer told me their CVT drain plug has same size as engine drain plug. I believed, and got surprised when I took off my CVT drain plug.
----trust the factory manuals!!!.
lesson 2. I read threats that lot people said they buy CVT fluid cheap on eBay, so I did it as well. I bought 5 QT from ebay at 74.99 and another 5QT on amazon from a same seller for 64.99? cry it out.
---- do your own research, and price fluctuate doesn't intent to make sense.
lesson 3. I read threats and found lot of people are recommending a magnefine inline filter for an additional protection. I bought one and surprised my 2013 Quest already has one attached on the assembly of CVT.
----what can I say? I should read the factory manuals more carefully.

On the day of operation.
Drain the pan and found the gasket I bought has no where to applicate. In order to drive, I re-used the o-ring. I know it can not be forgiven, but I just feel guilty to bother friends because my fault. I put the drain plug back after a brief clean. simply pour same amount of NS-2 fluid in.
Then unplug the hose from CVT filter and ask my wife to help start and stop engine and pour same amount of fluid in frequently.

the overall result saitisfied me.

If I can have the new gasket and o-ring that will make this process perfectly meet my expectation.

The pricing does fluctuate on NS-2 and NS-3 CVT fluids for sure and for what ever reason, the older NS-2 tends to be more expensive. I know I probably suggested eBay because that's where I found my NS-3 the least expensive for me at the time.

I've done a total of 3 drain and fills on my 2016 over the past year and have reused the factory drain plug washer. It appears to be a copper washer on my 2016 and is indeed very different than the engine oil drain plug. Zero leakage and I just snug it. Why the parts counter folks you approached didn't actually look up a p/n is a bit troubling.
