2013 Nissan Frontier 5-speed Auto Trans. Dipstick

Postby PC35PhotoLab » Sun Nov 24, 2019 7:09 pm

I hope someone can clarify this. I just bought a used 2013 Nissan Frontier SV, V6. I am going through everything because I don't trust the used car dealer to do anything right. This concerns the 5-speed auto transmission dipstick. Mine has one. Some owners report they don't have a dipstick. The Owner's Manual says nothing about a dipstick. The 2013 Service Manual says nothing about a dipstick and in fact shows a different way to check fluid level. I don't have any guide on how to check the fluid level using the dipstick since Nissan pretends it does not exist. I'm suppose to go to the Nissan dealer. Do all 2013 Frontier's have an automatic transmission dipstick? Is there a documented procedure on how to check the fluid level with the dipstick?

Apparently, there isn't one.

There's no mention in the FSM about it: https://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Frontier/2 ... ier/TM.pdf

I also looked in the FSM, but my transmission has a long round dipstick with the HOT and COLD indicators at the bottom. No mention of it in the FSM or any pictures. It can be found in the older Frontier models in their respective FSM. Also gives a procedure on how to check the fluid level using the dipstick.
