Hello,

Someone slammed into the back of my 2013 M37. My service engine light came on. I took my car to a collision place and they repaired my backend $8000 of work. When I picked up my car the service engine light was still on. The collision place retrieved the codes all were regarding fuel module I recall 3 codes. They cleared the codes. I drove my car for about a week then the light came back on again. I took my car back to the collision place and they code was p1233 b2 throttle body. State Farm sent someone out to look at my car then stated it was not caused by the accident. The collision place agreed with State Farm. I decided to go back to the collision place to pickup my car to take it to the Infiniti dealer but they couldn't start my car. I don't understand, I was able to drive my car there. My car service light has never came on ever until this accident. The dealer looked at my car and stated the issue was not caused by the accident and want $1200 to repair the b2 throttle body. Has anyone here ever had this issues?

Kind regards,

I've been 'round these parts a while and I don't recall anyone having the same correlation. As I was reading, I figured it would be like an EVAP code but TB's...hmm...very odd indeed.

How does the car drive?

Years ago (like more than 15) some vehicles had a safety feature built into the fuel system that caused the fuel system to shut off (and cause the check engine light to come on) after a rear-end collision. To clear the code (or light) you had to "reset" the system via a button or switch in the rear of the vehicle somewhere near the fuel tank filler. Check your owner's manual which may list this problem and help you find the switch. Hope this helps!

I have read that some vehicles have fuel pump reset switches tied into the airbag control module.
