640,000 Altimas are being recalled for faulty hood latches - they may have secondary latches that don’t hold properly.

Nissan says it has no reports of crashes or injuries from the problem, but this recall brings the total of Nissans and Infinitis recalled for hood latch problems to nearly 1.1 million.

Possible this recall could extend to the Rogue as well from what I'm hearing. No bueno.

If you have one of these cars, get it fixed ASAP! No one wants to be on the interstate and have their hood smack them in the face.

The hood release is next to the gas cap door release. If the hood is released you will not notice it from the drivers seat due to the slope of the hood.
Greasing and inspecting the latch will not fix this problem. I suggest adding a hood switch and indicator light or Sonalert in the car to let you know the hood is ajar just like the doors.
Is there a connection to the computer to light the Check Engine light? If not I will be adding a warning system to my 2015 Altima.
