This is getting really sad. Gives confirmation to the old adage that you should never buy a vehicle in it's first model year.
Just look at the 2005 Pathfinder for further proof.

It seems that Nissan is self destructing, in a lot of ways.
Consumer Reports absolutely slammed the new Q50 (G37 replacement).
Said it lacked any kind of personality, that it has lost it's way, and that it's not as good a car as it's predecessor.
The new Sentra, Versa Note, are terrible cars, and this mad obsession with stuffing a CVT in every vehicle has got to stop. It ruined the Maxima, in my eyes.
Looking at it's current line up, I would not buy a Nissan today.
Compare Nissan's product line to what Kia and Hyundai (to name a few) are bringing to the table, and it's downright scary.
They need a major shakeup at the top, and a new direction.
OK, that's my little rant for tonight.
Now, If I could just find a low mileage cream puff 2003 QX4, I'd be thrilled.
Cheers.

Has anyone had the recall done...it says there is reprogramming ...but, I 'd like to hear if anyone has any insight in to what the dealer is actually going to do.

Thanks

My wife and I just finished paying off our 2nd Murano and wanted something nicer and test drove a pre-owned JX35 yesterday. She fell in love with the car, but before buying I want to research it some. I agree with you that the CVT is not a good transmission for all Nissan/Infiniti vehicles. The cost to do maintenance on it and the fact that only a dealer can do the maintenance on it bothers me. I'm wondering if I should consider other options. I read some scathing reviews on Edumds.com and I'm really on the bubble on which way to go. She and I have been driving Nissans/Infinitis for over ten years now and I may have to make a change.

Just to add more to my earler rant: Consumers Report published their latest report on ownership satisfaction by asking drivers if they would buy the same car again.
Guess which car ranked the lowest? That's right, the Versa. Less than 50% of Versa owners would buy another one.
Other Nissan moels didn't fair much better, like the Titan for example.
I also saw an article on the new Q50.
I didn't realize this, but apparently it has electronic steering, with no actual physical connection from the steering wheel to the front wheels.
It's like the modern aircraft with fly by wire controls.
Turns out their system doesn't like cold weather, and has either experienced delays in reacting to steering wheel input, or even completely going non responsive.
There's supposedly a fail safe system built in that will allow you to still steer the car if the electronics fail, but it's still a scary system.
Here it is: http://www.leftlanenews.com/infiniti-q5 ... oblem.html
