Nice writeup. I don't really like the headlights but I suppose it's better looking than the previous model.

Can't wait to see what other cars you're going to review.

It depends largely on which dealerships are willing to let me drive their cars. Prospects are the Ford Festiva, Chevy Aveo, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Yaris, and I'm guessing the car comparable in the Mazda lineup is the Mazda 2.

That steering wheel and center stack look like they came out of

Looks so brutally cheap. I do like how the center stack doesn't seem to impede into knee space. The Yaris has that problem.

The interior looks it came out of a late 90's entry car...-_-

Once again, the MT is a base only option - like so many others.

I agree.
Reminds me of the cheap PT Cruiser interior.

I saw one in person a few weeks ago and I didn't think it looked that great.
For a second I thought it was an early '00 Korean car.

It sure looks a lot better in black than silver. But the rear is still a mess. I also can't figure out why the chrome at the sides of the grille is tapered. Or why the hood seam isn't at the grille instead of a foot back where it makes a separate break in the bodywork and is 100000 times more noticeable.

Kia Rio LX. Same price as the Versa you drove.

The older Rio I test drive a couple years ago was quite cheap but unexpectedly fun to throw around corners, like the first generation Dodge Neon. Maybe the same is true of the current one.

Kizashi is WAY bigger than the Versa. :) Even the SX4 is a size bigger than the Versa.

Number 2 on the list. Number one is the new Accent from Hyundai. Just looking at the pictures, I would definitely own one of these before I would the Versa and the Accent has 30 more HP. I'm going to go down the Motor Mile tomorrow and just hit up every dealership and see who will let me drive what.

I love doing that haha... it just sucks when all the dealers suck too.

It'll be interesting to see if the Versa improves in half a year or so. Hopefully all the problems are just new-car teething issues. Still, new car teething issues are usually reserved for GM. Chronic teething issues are for Chrysler. Way to drop the ball, Nissan.

Well, it turns out that Nissan is the only one who has 2012 models at their dealerships. I went to the Mazda and Hyundai dealerships today and they didn't have any and I called Ford and Toyota and they didn't have any either. When they come in, I will go and do the test drives, it'll just take longer for the comparison than originally expected.
