2012 Sentra iPod to USB?

Hi,

I can get the 30 Pin AUX Input Cable Adapter for iPod and can adapt to USB (don’t have adapters yet). What I’m wondering is if the Sentra’s stereo can read and play standard music files (mp3s) from a USB flash drive. Possible or does the stereo’s system only interface with and recognize Apple files?
