2012 Rogue making squeaking sound coming from somewhere under the hood only when AC is on.
When driving we can only hear it periodically and it sounds like a squeaky wagon wheel...It lasts for a few seconds and goes away.
Can't duplicate it while AC is off...

Tonight I parked the car and opened the hood. With AC on I could hear something that kind of sounds like crickets coming from somewhere...couldn't really tell. I think it only did it when the 2 fans in the front by the radiator would click on...

Any idea what the issue could be.
We took the car to the dealer today. They replaced the AC compressor which obviously was not the issue since we still hear the same noise. Luckily we had Fidelity premium extended coverage so we didn't have to pay but otherwise it would have been a $1200 repair for nothing!

Going to take it right back to the dealer and have them check again.
Seems like they are just swapping out parts blindly and starting with the most expensive ones...
Doesn't make sense why they can't properly diagnose an issue.

They must love your warranty company! (You must, too!)

Maybe its a belt tensioner, or possibly a failing bearing in the fan. Its a bummer that you have the problem, but thankfully you've got that warranty!!

Well...We took it back and they replaced the alternator and the drive belt. It has been 5 days now and we took the car on a 400 mile road trip. No noise. We definitely put the extended warranty to work. I am guessing they paid out 3x the amount we paid for it.
