Greetings all. Having a frustrating problem.

2012 Nissan Rogue, 106K miles. Parked overnight and wouldnt start in the morning. Diagnosis appeared to be a shot starter - ign fuse under hood looks good. Replaced starter and brand new battery, first turn of the key gives a half attempt to crank then nothing, then it just clicks one time when trying to start it again.

I put a wrench on the crank and the motor turns, so it doesn't appear siezed. Battery is 100% charged and showing adequate voltage.

I cannot for the life of me find any information anywhere about where to find the starter relay on this vehicle. Watched a video on a 2009 that had it in the power distro box behind the under hood fuse box but the 2012 appears to be totally different and there are no relays under that cover.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

The starter relay on a '12 is internal to the IPDM. Connector E10 pin 3 is the solenoid signal out of the starter relay, it's a fat Blue wire on a 6-pin connector. Jump 12V to it, if the starter spins then the IPDM or Ignition Switch signal to the relay is the problem. If it doesn't spin then pop the intake tube loose so you can reach the starter and short the S and B terminals with a screwdriver (expect a spark or two). If that spins it then the Blue wire has an issue, if it doesn't then the problem is your main starter cable or a bad starter. You can find the wiring diagram on STR-11 here:

The IPDM terminal layout is on PCS-17 here:
