I just picked up my new 2012 Rogue SV/SL the other day & noticed that the moonroof doesn't open all the way. The service department at my dealership told me that although they've received complaints from other Rogue owners, there is nothing wrong & my moonroof opens as far as it's supposed to, which I find odd, since there's at least a full 2 or 3 inches that the shade retracts further than the moonroof itself. Also, the Auto-On headlights go on in direct sunlight, & I thought they were only supposed to go on when it's dark. I'd appreciate any feedback from other Rogue owners.

Welcome to the club. Everybody is in the same boat. The sunroof opens like that way, as in not all the way. Kinda bummer, but I got use to it.

As for the auto headlights, I assume they only turn on at night. But I do know in Canada the lights always turn on.

My mother has a Lexus where the parking lights are always on even though I see others that don't. Always thought she received a Canadian Lexus.

Well, at least I know it's not just me.... This is the first vehicle I've ever had with a moonroof.

One question is there a difference between sunroof and moonroof?

Sunroof is a metal panel that will allow sun and light in when you open them......I rarely see these anymore.

MoonRoofs are made of glass and can let lite in even when closed...and can still open to let in air.

Generally speaking it depends on where the sensor(s) is located. I can't speak specifically to the 2012 Rogue.
