2012 Rogue map light stays on

This morning I opened my driver's side door and cranked my Rogue, leaned down to clean out the floor mat before I got in. Got in and shut the door, and the left map light stayed on. I drove a little way, stopped, killed it, opened and closed the door, and the light still stayed on. It stayed on the entire time I was driving to work, about 50 minutes. The right map light was off. I had the switch in the door position. When I got to work, I shut the door and locked all doors. Went back out in 30 minutes and the light was off. Unlocked the doors and opened the driver's side, then closed it. The left light stayed on. It stays on 30 minutes then goes off. I have never had any kind of issue with this car before today. I bought it last October. Any ideas? I'm concerned it will run down my battery.

I think it happened to me a few times on my '08 Rogue but I always thought my led bulbs were glitching. Could be a defective assembly too. Give it a day or two and if the problems appears again then you can either replace the assembly or disassemble the unit to take a look if any contacts are touching each other. Just pull the whole thing down with a screw driver and take a look each metal contact around the bulb and inside of the switch.
