2012 Rogue dash display dimmer

Recently an issue has arisen. I'm driving down the road and with no inputs to the display controls, it briefly shows the "dimming" display. After a moment it reverts to the typical display elements. This has happened 3 or 4 times in the last several weeks. No driveability issues, so I'm tempted to just ignore it. However, if its a loose connection or an electrical insulator that's worn off somewhere I don't want to have the issue grow.
