2012 QX56 Rear footwell lights...how to change them out?

I have a 2012 QX56, fully loaded. I am changing over to LED lights but can't figure out how to remove the rear foot well lights to change them.
Can anyone tell me how to remove the lights and what size bulbs they are?

i think those are already LED, unless you just want to change the color?

grab the service manual and it will tell you if they can even be changed out...

I can't tell if they are LED or not, but they are yellow and I'm going white LED with the whole Q.

Unfortunately they are not leds. I also have a fully loaded 2012 QX56.

I have changed only one of mine. The driver footwell. Just because the led I found and put there does not fit very well, but it is brighter than stock. I had to make a slight modification for it to fit.

I may be changing my cabin and air filter soon. When changing the cabin filter for the QX, one has to basically get to the passenger footwell light and the glove box footwell light. I plan to try and change those at that time.

Yeah, grab the service manual or look at my thread where I post pictures of changing my cabin filter. It may help you out.

I figured out how to get the rear footwell lights out, they are LEDs already, but an amber color. I had to take the back of the front seats off to get to them. Now I don't know how to get a replacement LED (white). The LED is on a lead attached to a small board, which has "2BV" and "55C" on it. I'm at work and can't get on any pic hosting sites to upload pictures.

If anyone knows what kind of bulb this is or where I can find one in a white LED, PLEASE let me know!

As far as the front footwell lights, I have ordered them. I realize that they may be too bright. I plan on taking a piece of opaque plastic and putting it over the LED (careful not to touch the LED), but still inside the plastic piece where the bulb sits. This should dull it down some.

I've seen your post on the cabin air filter...I ordered both engine and cabin filters yesterday and plan to put them in this weekend....thanks for the info!

cabin filter is easy peasy. good to confirm the footwells in rear are led. makes sense since they sound difficult to swap out otherwise.
