I have a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and installed some LED light bars on it, and the lumens from them are amazing. I looked into where I can install a light bar onto my 2012 QX56 without it looking too gaudy or creating a lot more air resistance.
Attached is what I did. It involved some welding (I'm an MBA not a welder, so it was easy welding) of two mounting plates onto the frame. Other than that it was pretty straightforward. The fog lights have been replaced with JDM 8th gen 7000 lumen LED bulbs. The light bar is a 32" curved light bar that claims to output 15,000 lumens. I don't doubt it as it completely lights up the road in front of me.
Anyways... Just thought I would share this project.
