Hi all,

We just got this 2012 QX56. The analog clock on the forward console isn't working. I have had older units with the clock still working. I can accept that it's possible it's just dead. Before I accept that, I want to exhaust all other possibilities first. I have searched these forums and the 'net for ideas, but can't find anything.

I've searched the FSM online here, but can't find where it is. Any ideas on a chapter I may have missed? Any ideas what fuse and where the fuse is located?

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

since your back flip down seat switches are not working either, seems it may be related to this.

are there any modifications done to the car? extra speakers, music system, screens, screen bypass mod (to play video up front when car is moving), etc.?

just for grins, did you use a obd scanner tool to check for any OTC's ?

Thank you for your reply, marktronixx. I kind of agree that the clock may be related to the seat switches, but wanted to separate the two because they are two seemingly different issues and didn't want to muddy one post with two issues.

To answer your questions, no modifications. The car is stock. One owner and I suspect an elderly couple based on the music loaded in the jukebox. ;)

And second, no, I haven't put a code reader to it yet. I can do that tomorrow. I'll post any codes that show.

Thanks again!

I have posted the same reply in the 2nd row seat post. I never did put a code reader to it...

SOLVED: As suspected, the 2nd row seat flip switch and the clock are, in fact, on the same fuse. I overlooked this fuse so many times. I've downloaded and printed the SE and PG sections of the FSM and have read and re-read the wiring diagrams and could not figure out where the fuse was located.

I finally looked at the end of the PG chapter because I wanted to look at battery info, and lo-and-behold there were diagrams of the actual fuse blocks! I could tell it was located on the driver's side because of the connection numbers and where they connected to the main harness. At first I thought it was behind the driver's kick panel, but when I removed it all I found were harness connections. Then I looked at the fuse block in the lower dash and looked at the diagram on the cover, and there it was: the long-term storage disconnect at fuse location 6! I gave it a push, and it re-seated the fuse, and both my seat switches work and the clock has started running!

Thanks to Rogue One and marctronixx for your suggestions and help with the FSM SE chapter direction.
