I started having issues with my A/C last year when I noticed that the clutch was not being engaged. Took it to the real and they wanted to replace the entire compressor. Didn't want to spend the money, so my family mechanic was able to replace the actual clutch. That fixed the issue for a little while. About a month ago, I noticed the same issue. My A/C would decide when it wanted to work and when it didn't. I checked he freon which was fine. I had my family mechanic look at it again and he figured out it was actually the connector from the compressor to the car that was faulty. I when I wiggles with the connector, the clutch would engage. Also the pins in the connector seemed to be burned out. My question is what would be the best way to solve my issue. My first thought was to just get rid of the connector and hard wire the wires together. Any suggestions would definitely help.

Junkyard, find the same connector, cut it off the wreck with as much wire as possible still attached. Take it home splice in with butt connectors and electrical heat shrink sleeves. Tape the transplanted connections up zip tie any extra long wire out of the way so it doesn't get into something that moves, plug the new connector in.
