I just got a hold of a pdf from Nissan that what uploaded on http://www.nissannews.com and I think They messed up...it was supposed to be about the NY autoshow, but it looks like it's info on what they say is a

"GENESIS COUPE AND "TOYOTABARU" AKA FT-86 COMPETITOR"

"Progress on the new RWD car will be based on a reinforced version of Nissan's all-new global V-platform. Engineered by Nissan in Japan, the V-platform project focuses on reductions in both weight and in the number of components that make up the future models.

The V-cars have 18 per cent fewer parts than Nissan’s previous small cars, The V platform’s weight reduction was achieved by reducing the number of components and simplifying the car’s systems. It will be powered by the automaker's second gasoline-turbocharged-direct-injected (GTDI) engine, based on the 1.6L block from the Juke bored to 2.3L.

Power is expected to be in the 240 hp range. Weight is expected to be in the 2400 range. The car will be a two-seater. It will be first offered as a coupe and then, if there is a high enough demand, as a roadster."

looks like It draws heavily from Nissan's 2005 Sport Concept and Nissan's 2006 Urge concept

A competitor for the Genesis and FT-86? For what? Didn't Hyundai already try to compete with the Z with their Genesis and failed? Don't really see any reason for Nissan to release this car, especially when they should be working on that long awaited Silvia
