I had some check engine light issues earlier this year. It turned out to be the mass air flow sensor according to the mechanic. However, my check engine light would keep coming back on. I ran it back to the shop about 3 times as it would stay off for about 150 miles and then come back on.

Eventually, I had to take it to a Nissan dealership. They were able to get the check engine light to stay off (I believe they had to reprogram something). Now, about two months later, my car is burning gas like crazy. I can get a full take of gas and by the end of the day, I am down 120 Miles on the estimated mileage I have left based on the gas in my car. I am filling up about every 3 days where as before, I was filling up maybe every 6 - 7 days.

I can be sitting idle at a stop light and my estimated mileage will drop like 5-7 miles. However, if I am doing highway driving, it doesn't seem to lose as much as quick.

Any thoughts before I run it to a mechanic? Thanks!
