2012 Maxima front defrost problems!

Quick question for you guys,

Just purchased my first Nissan ever. that being a 2012 Nissan maxima s. Love the car. but having 1 issue with it. When I get in the vehicle after it has been sitting all day, start it up, turn on the AC to front defrost, no problems. If I try setting it to something else say feet or dash vents, no problem. But, when I try to turn it back to front defrost, it doesn't go back. I can hear the fan motors slow down, then speed back up again like it is trying to change back, but doesn't. it will only now blow air from the dashboard vents. I did get it hooked up by a scanner and it said that the doors were not returning properly to there 'home position' or something like that. Now, when I get to work, and let the car sit all day, when I goto leave I can switch it to defrost again.

Anyone else have this problem? Thanks for the help!
