Hey guys I parked my 2012 M37x on my local Boston street the other night maybe a little bit more off the curb than usual, but I woke up to find this scratch on the rear bumper. Was wondering if anybody knew any tricks to get this off. It doesn't look too deep. Thanks guys!

That almost looks like it's just paint transfer. I would start with clay bar to get as much of the other paint off first. Then move to a polish to remove the remaining paint transfer and smooth out any defects. If you have a random orbit polisher like a Porter Cable or UDM it is a much faster process than by hand. Even one of the Maguier's drill mounted ball/cone/pad polishers will help get it done quicker.

Scratch-X is a decent easy to find polish that works well for these kind of jobs.

Gasoline... Gasoline will take off pretty much any rubbed paint. Works very, very well for removing the rubbed on paint; it won't take out scratches though. Just pour some gasoline on a rag and wipe it off.

Gasoline, turpentine, cooking oil, WD40, and I'm sure many other things are commonly recommended to remove paint transfer. As stated though they will not help with any damage left behind. I still recommend products designed specifically for paint since they will accomplish both goals and generally smell much better.
